There are tools, tips, and tricks you can use to elevate your site to the next level and get all the traffic and recognition you need. As we already mentioned the times are different and anyone can have a pretty good website if they put a little effort into that. There are numerous videos on how to create a website and how to put it online, but there are a few of those that tell you how to make it pop and stand out.
The art of being first in any search regarding your niche is tied to something called SEO and today we will discuss a bit about that. SEO by itself is not hard to do by yourself, but there are tools as well as companies that can do that for you and optimize it to perfection. One of those companies is SEO Principles so make sure to check them out and see what they have to offer you.
Now, let’s get into tips and tricks that will help you make your site stand out in Google searches.
1. Usual solutions
Whenever someone new starts a website it is only natural to try and find out what they can do for their site to rank higher. Whenever you do this you will get three basic solutions that work, but only so far. Creating good content is something that is a must if you want any traffic to your page. Content must be good, up to date, interesting and inviting for your visitors.
If you are a blog site you need to have good grammar, good titles which are enthusing as well and your content needs to reflect that. If you are a business site your content has to be about what you do or what you sell. Keywords are the second thing that everyone suggests and these are important as well, but keywords get you so far.
You will pop up in a search with keywords you placed, but what good it is when you are on the bottom of the page or even the third or fourth one. You all know that most of us never go beyond the first page of the search results so being in the top 5 or six results is important.
Site loading time is also a great suggestion simply because everyone these days wants info as fast as possible, want good site optimization for multiple platforms so they can enjoy the content you offer them to the fullest. Again, these things get you so far, what you have to do is focus on the next things.
2. Long-tail keywords
We already mentioned keywords in the first tip, but these are a bit different, the longtail keywords are longer and more specific. If you add a keyword like “diet” that is considered a short tail keyword but something like “keto diet dinner recipe” is a bit more specific and longer as you can see and it is targeting a specific thing.
The reality is that we rarely type longer keywords and this makes these super competitive you can dissect your article that will reflect each of these keywords and wrap it around that for a bit more extra nudge toward the top of the ranks.
3. Longer content with backlinks
Now we know that at some moment in time shorter, informative and fun content was the big deal. Everything is changed and now you need good content that will go through a certain topic in-depth and it will increase the chance that people will link to you. There are tons of good content out there and there are great sites, but because of the size of their content and because of the lack of backlinks this content falls behind all other blogs, YouTube videos, vlogs and whatnot.
Another great thing to do whenever you are doing a longer content page is add a hook that will make a blogger or a journalist want to link to your content. Hooks usually are some sort of stats, case studies, unique strategies, some sort of rare interview or anything in between that. So, anything that will make someone want to ling to your site and content page is a great thing and can be used as a hook.
4. Keyword-optimize the content
On-page, SEO has changed a lot over time, especially in the last two years which is why we have so much sudden and drastic changes to our sites. For some time, content creators were confused and found that these changes negatively impact their content which had good ratings and placement until then.
In that time keyword optimization meant stuffing your page with words that were frequently searched but that doesn’t work anymore. Now you have to give Google context about what your page is all about.
You will still use keywords on your page but you need to do that in a way that helps Google understand your pages’ overall topic. Have an important keyword that you will include in several important places on your page and this way you will allow Google to understand that your page is about that specific term.
Then you need to use something called LSI keywords. These are closely related to your target keyword and they need to show up around your target keyword around the web. An example of that can be a keyword like “Mercedes” where the LSI keywords would be “elegance”, “comfort”, “German”, “autobahn” etc.
5. Unique images
Now, this comes as a bonus tip and we are gladly including it in this tips and tricks list. Using stock images and photos can hurt your Google rankings and many of you out there didn’t know this. Constantly using images and photos used elsewhere will lead to you ranking lower and it will eventually lead to you not being ranked on google at all.
If you can and whenever you can use original images in your content. They can be images you took with your phone or anything you can whisk up in photoshop if you got the skills. The uniqueness of the images you use have a direct impact on the Google rankings so keep that in mind.
